Puppy socialization starts early at Dalwater. All Dalwater puppies are raised lovingly in our home and we practice ENS and believe in the rules of 7 as taught by Pat Hastings-

ï‚· Been held and petted by at least 7 different people
ï‚· Taken at least 7 one-mile car rides
ï‚· Been in a crate at least 7 times

VACCINATING YOUR PUPPY: More dogs (and people) are suffering from various cancers and auto immune mediated disorders than ever before for and the dog professional community is becoming increasingly aware that some of our outdated vaccine pratice may be a contributing factor. For this reason It is our policy to follow a minimal vaccine protocol and vaccinate with a single vaccine at a time given at strategic intervals and employ titer testing as the best means of protecting our puppies and bolstering their immune systems. FEEDING YOUR PUPPY: Navigating all of the the conflicting opinions on the best way of feeding our dogs can be confusing. We feed our puppies as complete of a biologically appropriate diet as we can buy in kibble form that is formulated for a fast growing breed and we recommend it be fed for the first 18 months.
GETTING READY: We are busy socializing your puppy to insure that he/or she will be as adjusted and ready for a seamless transition into your welcoming arms but there are lots of things you can do to prepare . I highly recommend Ian Dunbar's 'BEFORE You Get Your Puppy' and 'AFTER You Get Your Puppy'. Both can be found here...

THE EARLY SPAY/NUETER CONTROVERSY: While your Dalwater puppy is sold as a pet and not for breeding it is in your pet's best interest to delay spaying or neutering until maturity as many cancers and joint disorders as well as other health issues can be avoided. You can read more here....
